Feeling a little...
Under the weather? ....
this can mean anywhere from not feeling 'quite right' ... to being
downright sicker than a 'dawg'! Most of us know that being that
sick is when you finally do something. You turn off your phone
(cell and/or landline), off with the lights, you crumble into your bed
and curl up the best you can, praying that nothing moves because even
your hair hurts! And you do this because you have no choice.
But what do you do when you're just a little sick? Just a little bit "Under the weather"? Well, this is when most of us plod through our day as best as we can feeling miserable, irritable, and making everyone else feel the same. We don't take care of ourselves usually because we can't afford to or haven't been able to find enough time to. This is when you really should! Bolster your immune system by taking some extra vitamin C. Drink lots of fluids through out the day and as much as you comfortably can. If you're lucky and manage to be able to stay at home, then pamper the daylights out of yourself! Get as much rest as you can. If not actual sleep then curl up on the sofa or your bed and rest. Face it, if you don't your body won't get any better any faster and.... if you end up so sick and have to miss work or school, who is going to pay your bills? It's better all around if you catch your illness quick and do all that you can to make yourself well. ![]() The U. S.
Postal Service offers many services
for mailing letters and
packages that we can all take advantage of. For information on
these services either visit the website at www.usps.com or visit
your local post office.
When you visit the post office ask for their booklet: A Customer’s Guide to Mailing. Selective Service registration forms are also available at the post office and during Income Tax season the forms for filing your Federal Income Tax are available too. (see Mail; Selective Service) After you
have obtained your new home whether an
apartment or house you
may need to arrange for various utility services. If renting an
apartment you may only be responsible for electric. If you have a gas
stove and water heater or the heat is supplied by gas you will also
need to contact the gas company. Usually water, sewage and trash
removal are furnished by apartment complexes. You will also be
responsible for a land line phone, cable for television and your
Internet service.
Many times you can get the phone, cable and Internet service through one company and on a package plan. If you can get a plan for these three services through the local cable company or perhaps the telephone company it should be less expensive than to order each service through individual service providers. If renting a house you will most likely be responsible for all the utilities, including water, sewage and trash collection. This is one of the questions you need to discuss with the home owner and/or the apartment manager so that you are clear about what your responsibilities will be. Call the utility companies and arrange for connections. You may need to go in person to the individual companies and pay deposits and connection fees. Possibly you may be able to pay the utility company’s service representative when they come out to turn the utilities on. Passwords: Consider
putting passwords on all your utility
accounts so that no one
else is able to make changes on the services that you are responsible
for. Without your password no one can order a disconnection or increase
the services.
